JJAM Curators Collective was created in 2010 by Julia Jarvis and An Michiels, who met on the MA Curating Contemporary Design at Kingston University in partnership with the Design Museum. JJAM aims to develop, commission and manage creative projects with a focus on emerging contemporary designers.

Julia Jarvis has a background in digital media, in her capacity as a digital and television producer from 2007-2009, she managed the creative process through its project cycle; facilitating both film and websites for a wide range of clients from Nokia, Oakley to architects offices: Stock Woolstencroft and EPR to deliver projects to a high standard. Julia is currently working at Spring Projects in London, assisting Gallery Director and Curator Andree Cooke.

An Michiels is an architect on a detour.  Until 2009, prior to making the switch to the world of design, she was working as an architect in London-based offices and was project architect for ‘Melody Lane’ a prize winning residential development by Julian Cowie Architects. End 2011 she returned to her home country Belgium where she is part of the team behind the Biënnale Interieur. An is also active as a freelance design journalist.
